Author Guidelines
Lingua Susastra (LS) is a scholarly periodical that focuses on various significant issues in Indonesian literature, linguistics, and learning. The journal invites original articles that contribute to valuable studies and meaningful research. LS publishes a well-rounded selection of articles, including high-quality theoretical, empirical, comparative, or exploratory research. In addition, the journal includes undergraduate student final assignments, book reviews, and summaries of theses and dissertations.
All manuscripts accepted for publication in LS, regardless of whether they are written by students at the undergraduate, master's, doctoral levels, graduates, or experts, will be published online. However, prior to undergoing the review process, all manuscripts will be checked for originality using Turnitin or Ithenticate. In most cases, LS does not impose strict limits on word count or page number.
Copyright Transfer
The author who submits the article manuscript, with full awareness, understands that if the article manuscript is accepted for publication, the publishing copyright must be given to the Journal of Lingua Susastra, Department of Indonesian and Regional Language and Literature as the publisher of the journal. The authors are required to submit a statement of copyright transfer agreement online in pdf format as a complete document (supplementary file) along with the final article.
Processing Fee
The Lingua Susastra Journal does not charge a manuscript submission fee. That is, the decision to accept or reject a manuscript does not depend on the cost of submitting the manuscript. The Lingua Susastra journal also does not charge a manuscript processing fee. Thus, the costs of manuscript review and language editing are the responsibility of this journal.
Manuscript Publication
Furthermore, the Lingua Susastra Journal does not charge a fee for publishing manuscripts suitable for publication both online and in print. Thus, the costs are the responsibility of this journal. Online publications can also be accessed by readers free of charge. The cost of printing the manuscript in order to publish the printed version of the journal is the responsibility of this journal, but readers of the printed journal must pay for the printing costs.
Manuscript Delivery
Manuscripts are submitted online through the page http://linguasusastra.ppj.unp.ac.id/index.php/LS/index. The following is the procedure for submitting manuscripts online.
Authors must REGISTER first to get an account.
The author registers himself by filling out the form in the Register section and registering himself as an author.
Authors who have logged in as authors, click New Submission.
There are 5 stages of submission, namely (1) Start; (2) Upload Submission; (3) Enter Metadata; (4) Upload Supplementary Files; (5) Confirmation.
Stage (1) Start, select Journal Section (full article), tick all the checklists.
Stage (2) Upload Submission, please upload the article script file in MS Word.
Stage (3) Enter Metadata, the author fills in all data, affiliations, article titles, abstracts, keywords.
Stage (4) Upload Supplementary Files, Authors are welcome to upload supporting data.
Stage (5) Confirmation, please click Finish Submission, if all data is correct.

ARTICLE GUIDANCES
ARTICLE BASIC FORMAT
There is no strict format in article writing. However, the manuscript must contain important elements: abstract, keywords, introduction that includes background, previous research to prove the novelty of the research, research problem; theoretical framework; research methodology; analysis; conclusion; and a list of references.
NUMBER OF PAGES, PAPER SIZE, AND SPACES
Articles should between 8–15 pages long, written on A4 sheets with 1.5 spacing.
LANGUAGE
Articles are written in Indonesian or English.
TEXT FRAMEWORK
TITLE
All article titles are written in capital letters, centered on the page, in Arial Narrow font, size 14 pt. The maximum length of the title is eight words. If it is more than eight words, use a subtitle. Make the title as specific as possible.
WRITER'S NAME(s)
The name of the author of the article is listed without an academic degree, accompanied by the name of the institution of origin, and email address; placed under the article title. In the case of a manuscript written by a team, the editor is in contact with the lead author.
ABSTRACT
Abstract written in two languages (Indonesian and English). Order of place: English abstract, then Indonesian abstract. Abstract length 150–250 words. Abstract written in Arial Narrow, size 11 pt. Abstract content: background; research purposes; research methodology; research results that show novelty, or remain relevant in the long term, or open up new research possibilities. The results of quantitative research must be accompanied by a confidence index. Finally, conclusions that reveal the theoretical implications of the research, such as offering a “small” theory, or theorizing research findings.
KEYWORDS
Keywords are written in two languages under the corresponding abstract. Keywords are written in Arial Narrow 11 pt. The maximum number of keywords is five relevant words. Do not put your name (individual, place, institution, …). Each keyword is separated by a semicolon (;).
PART NUMBER
Numbering of article sections using digit numbers (1; 1.1; etc.). The section title is written as follows.

TABLES AND ILLUSTRATION
Tables and illustrations (pictures, graphs, diagrams, maps, and photos) are presented with the following provisions.

The resolution must be high, at least 300 dpi (in tiff, png, or jpg format).
The size of pictures, charts, tables, and so on is adjusted to the size of the paper.
The title of the table is below the table, typed in the middle and numbered sequentially.
Pictures, graphics, and photos are framed. The title is below it, typed from the left edge and numbered sequentially.
INTRODUCTION
In the introductory part, the writer must explain in order: background, review of previous research (state of the art, research gap) as the basis for the statement of research novelty, research problems. The research objectives are written at the end of the introduction.
METHODS
The method section consists of a description of the research design, data sources, data collection, and data analysis with a proportion of 15-20% of the total length of the article, all presented in paragraph form.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
The discussion section of research results contains research findings and discussion. Research findings must be supported by adequate data exposure. Research findings must be explained scientifically including: What are the scientific findings obtained? Why did it happen? Why is the trend of the variables like that? All questions must be explained scientifically, not only descriptively, and supported by adequate empirical data. In addition, the comparison with the results of other researchers on almost the same topic should also be explained. The research results must be able to answer the hypotheses and/or research questions that have been formulated in the introduction.
CONCLUSION
The conclusion section describes the answers to the research objectives or scientific findings obtained. The conclusion does not contain a repetition of the research results and discussion, but a summary of the findings as expected in the research objectives. If necessary, at the end of the conclusion can also be written the actions to be taken as a continuation of the research.
CITATION AND REFERENCE
Citations and references follow the style of the APA (American Psychological Association) 7th edition.
Quotations and references must be done consistently. For example, if you quote and refer to it in parentheses – it is highly recommended to put “List of References” at the end of the article. However, if citing and referring to footnotes—not endnotes, at the end of the article must be affixed “Bibliography”.
The reference list or bibliography contains only the literature referred to in the article.
There are different ways of writing references in parentheses and in footnotes. Likewise, how to write references in footnotes and in the bibliography.
